"Rainbow for a Job" is a pilot project that aims to support LGBTQIA+ individuals and LGBTQIA+ individuals with a migration background in their employment journey. The project focuses on providing a safe and inclusive space while reinforcing intersectional objectives.

The objectives of the project are as follows:

  • To offer complementary and specific support to job seekers and enhance their skills.
  • To prepare and implement a peer/mentoring process.
  • To facilitate connections between employers and job seekers through employment support structures.

The project utilises various tools, including job coaching, mentoring, and accompaniment, to promote the matching of job opportunities with the skills and needs of individuals. The project acknowledges the presence of discriminatory barriers and aims to create a safe environment for participants.

The project employs methodological workshops that cover topics such as empowerment, participation, and social and professional skills development. Additionally, job fairs, conferences, and training sessions are organised to provide opportunities for networking and skill enhancement.

The project is free of charge for all LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking personalized support, and the assistance provided is confidential. To ensure inclusivity, the project primarily operates in French, Dutch, English, and Spanish, accommodating individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Belgian citizens, Europeans, expats, refugees, migrants, ...

Funding for the project in 2023 is provided by the Federal Secretariat for Equal Opportunities.
