PRISME, formerly known as Arc-en-Ciel Wallonie, was created in June 2007 by various Walloon LGBTQIA+individuals and associations.

It brings together associations working in Wallonia to defend the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals and all people outside the heteronormative, cisnormative and endosexnormative spectrum.

Its initial objective was to provide a place for exchange between all associations in the Walloon region. Over time, the federation has grown and succeeded in bringing together a significant number of associations, of which the Maisons Arc-en-Ciel (Rainbow Houses of Wallonia region) are the most emblematic as local LGBTQIA+ relays present in all the Walloon provinces.

Besides offering a space for discussion and exchange of good practices, PRISME has become a center of expertise on LGBTQIA+ issues in Wallonia. It now has several flagship projects within and outside the European Union.

The federation also works for an egalitarian and inclusive society for all, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression or gender characteristics.

Finally, in 2022, PRISME and the Walloon government jointly launched the first LGBTQIA+ plan, which is a concrete program, aiming at equality and reinforcement of the rights of all LGBTQIA+ people in Wallonia, including LGBTQIA+ migrant persons.
