Maison Arc-en-Ciel de Mons (RainbowHouse of Mons) is a non-profit organisation that provides support and assistance to LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Mons region of Belgium, including refugees and asylum seekers. They offer social and cultural events, as well as support and advocacy services.

The organisation works to promote the rights and well-being of all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or migration status. Some of the key activities that MAC Mons engages in to support and to follow up refugees and asylum seekers include:

  • Legal assistance: The organisation provides legal assistance to refugees and asylum seekers who are navigating the complex legal system in Belgium, particularly in relation to their asylum procedure and integration in the Belgian society. This includes assistance with finding housing, employment, and other basic needs.
  • Individual interviews: To give a listening support, psychological help MAC Mons provides individual interviews by giving advice in their asylum procedure and to refugees who have experienced trauma and other forms of mental distress.
  • Community building: The organization works to build bridges between refugees and the wider community in Mons, through cultural events, community projects, and other initiatives. They organize migration discussion groups each month in collaboration with Tels Quel association.
  • Collaboration with Fedasil and the Red Cross as a relay point.
