The organisation was founded by volunteers fromthe Balkans. Balkan LGBTQIA+ helps, supports, and defends the interests ofLGBTQIA+ persons from the Balkan countries. The role of the organisation is to fight any form of discrimination. They are always available for legal advice or translation when necessary. One of their well-known activities is a musical battle known as the ‘Balkan Party’. The aim is to break down the barriers often faced by members of LGBTQIA+ and the boundaries among different Balkan communities themselves. They abide by the principle that anyone can enjoy spending time with others regardless of where you come from.
